Echo en Mexico

Even though my roots are mix with pretty much everything (I did the 23 and me test to confirm it),  because I was born in Mexico city and lived there till I was nine years old, my first reaction  when someone asks me where I am from, will me Mexico. I am very proud to be from such a beautiful country. Mexico city is one of the greatest and most beautiful metropolitan cities in the world. If you ever have a chance to visit please do!

Unfortunately, I haven’t been back to my birth city in a very long time, because of emotional issues that I might talk about on another day. But, I have been back to Mexico and had the pleasure of taking my hubs and even our little guy to what my mom ( among lots of other people ) calls the most beautiful place in the world, the Mayan Riviera.

There is a reason why the Mayan Riviera is as popular as it is. The beauty for once would make it difficult for you to want to go back. Jennifer Olson is one of the many people who decided to make this beautiful corner of the world home. While shopping for local art, Jenn continually met artisans producing exceptional work yet these people were barely able to feed their families. They had no knowledge of marketing and no access to global markets. Jenn created Boutique Mexico to showcase the work of these artisans.

Today, Boutique Mexico, located in Tulum Mexico, has mutually beneficial partnerships with artisans in Guerrero, Hidalgo, Puebla, Chiapas, and Oaxaca guided by the principals of fair trade. They also like to give back in many other ways, for example They contribute to La Escuelita de Sonia School for needy children, and donate a portion of every bracelet purchased to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage site near Tulum, Mexico.

Even though visiting Boutique Mexico, is a great excuse to take a little vaca, you can shop all the gorgeous pieces online! I am obsess with Camila Otomi clutch! It represent my birth country and the amazing artisan talent that we have, perfectly!
