Q&A: Megan from Belles and Rebelles
As I mention before, blogging has helped me make new amazing friends, with whom I can share my love for fashion with. The best part about it is that, the friendships are not limited to my city. I’ve made some great friendships with fellow fashion lovers from other cities, even from other continents!
One of these friendships is with Megan from Belles and Rebelles . Her blog, base in NYC was one of the first blogs I started to follow. I love her edgy style and her amazing photos from her travels. After a few months of interaction over social media, she became a must stop visit any time I was in NYC, even if it was for 30 minutes outside of starbucks ( with another fab blogger from NYC Tiff who I would post more about later for sure ♥)
Now let get to know more about Megan

Describe your style in 3 words
1. Eclectic, 2. Tomboy/sporty, 3. BLACK (I wear a lot of it—I AM a NYC girl after all!)
What inspired you?
I am most inspired by travel. Being able to see people across the globe and all of the unique styles throughout the world! I am lucky to live in NYC where I can see so many different styles every day. I love to mix and match styles and high-end with low end.
What is your signature look?
LAYERING. I am always mixing and playing with different lengths and I can usually be seen wearing leggings, baggy top, a funky jacket, a scarf (or two) and fingers filled with rings!
What is your best fashion memory?
Making and cutting up my clothes back in High School. I mainly liked to “personalize” jeans. People at school who I wasn’t even friends with would approach me and ask me where I got the jeans and upon hearing that I had made them, would often ask me to make them a pair!
Who is your style Icon?
This is a huge question. At the moment, I am most inspired by Mary-Kate Olsen. I’m also a huge fan of cool-girl/model Jamie Bochert’s style. It’s dark and just COOL! I’ve always been a huge Erin Wasson fan too! My icon changes with my mood…Can’t have just one!
Favorite designer?
I don’t have one favorite! It really goes by whatever I like at the moment…
Favorite Quote?
There are too many good, inspiring quotes! It’s way too hard to pick a favorite…But… I just came across a great one on a blog that I read regularly, it said: “If you work really hard and are kind, good things will happen.” I thought those were good words to live by! (Quote found at www.avillagetown.com)
What would you never wear?
I don’t like to discount anything and say I’ll never wear it…
Favorite trend for fall 2012?
Sportswear! So glad to see clean, structured, comfortable, and sport-inspired collections this fall. Maybe we have the Olympics to thank for that!
What is the must have item for this fall?
At one point I was on the absolute hunt for a varsity jacket. It’s definitely one of the cooler items to have this fall! I’m sporty, so it fits my style well! I ended up finding a varsity jacket in sweater form at Madewell!
Favorite runway look of the season?
ANYTHING from the latest YSL Collection.
What do you look for when buying clothes?
First and foremost: Comfort. If it’s not comfortable it will sit in my closet and never be worn.
Have you ever worn anything that you later regretted?
Nope. I always have worn and always wear what I like. Even if it’s only in that moment, I did like it at that time, so no reason to regret anything!
Any personal styling tricks?
Never be afraid to make a statement. Always be yourself! It’s the trick to having your best style!
